Board our custom-built bus and watch as the streets of Coventry become part of the performance
‘If at 65 you could say something to yourself at 23, what would it be?’
Rear View is a unique interactive experience, produced by IOU, where the streets of Coventry become part of the performance. This exciting experience is taken on a custom-made conversion of a double decker bus, a mobile auditorium that turns the city into a stage as you go on an unforgettable journey where familiar and not so familiar places are brought to life.
Beginning in a life-drawing class, Rear View becomes a moving adventure about a woman’s life led by performance poets Cecilia Knapp and Jemima Foxtrot. On board the Rear View bus, audiences wear headphones for a totally immersive experience, listening to the audio in real time with an imaginary soundscape blurring the line between fantasy and reality.
'The new IOU theatre show is a little bit special…[a] wonderfully poignant piece about seeing ourselves clearly from a distance' Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
IOU has a 40-year tradition of creating work that combines many art forms presented in unusual indoor and outdoor spaces, festivals, venues, galleries and digital worlds.
