Explore the growth, development and future of Coventry
RE:Coventry is an Urban Room project that began with a series of talks during the Festival of Imagineers 2017 and has grown into a collaborative project between IDP architects, Coventry University’s Graphic Design MA course and a range of arts organisations and charities working in Coventry. Our goal is to promote meaningful placemaking through community engagement and by facilitating dialogue between the wide range of stakeholders, designers and users within Coventry. This project is about transforming forgotten spaces in the City, inviting people with a passion for Coventry to dream up new ideas, helping to build a vibrant city of the future beyond 2021.
This year we launch a month-long pilot Urban Room in Coventry and invite community groups, students, designers and the public to take part through workshops, seminars, exhibitions and film screenings. These will promote discussion about the growth, development and future of Coventry, and explore what the built environment means to the people who live and work here. The project connects with a wider network of Urban Rooms across the country, and highlights the existing range of placemaking research and projects ongoing in Coventry.
